Comment: The Child Find Project is a free Clark County School District service designed to identify and evaluate the needs of children ages 3 to 21 who are suspected of having a disability or delay and not currently enrolled in the district. Parents or guardians may initiate a free evaluation of their child by calling the Child Find Project office.
Comment: In accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act, the Washoe County School District conducts child identification activities in order to increase community awareness and to provide special education services to eligible students between the ages of 2.9 and 5 years old. Home schooled and private schooled students contact Child Find. These older students are assessed at their zoned school per Child Find.
Healthy Children - American Academy of Pediatrics

Nevada PEP (Bilingual)
Comment: PEP is Nevada's statewide Parent Training & Information center for families who have children with disabilities and the professionals who support them.
Comment: The Nevada Registry is the premier site for the early childhood community on training and other resources in Nevada. There are sections on: Career ladder, Training Approval, Training Calendar, Job Board, Resources (including a good Parent list), Downloads and Contacts.
Comment: The PCA Nevada chapter coordinates statewide child abuse prevention efforts and activities and provides legislative advocacy for child abuse prevention. As part of its ongoing efforts to represent all of Nevada, PCA partners with children's service providers, community organizations, and individuals throughout the state to address the needs of both rural and urban communities. PCA Nevada coordinates a statewide Child Abuse Prevention Month Campaign, "Pinwheels for Prevention" every April.

National Training Institute for Child Care Health Consultants
Comment: This site has sections About (CCHC) Training, Schedule of Trainings, To Apply, Login to Course, and a Resource Database that has links to many national organizations. In addition, the Special Links section includes the NTI video: “Building Better Child Care Through Health Consultation”. This 18 minute video provides an excellent overview for anyone who is interested in learning more about CCHCs. There is also an online training course for CCHCs “Healthy Smiles through Child Care Health Consultation”. Healthy Child Care Nevada usually sends 2-3 professionals per year to attend the NTI training, which is the basis for both HCCN’s program and that of other states.
